Art, whether it’s written, painted, or sung, has a way of soothing the soul. Samantha Ebert, based in Ontario, Canada, writes original Contemporary Christian music with a laid-back, storytelling style. Her song Flowers is a beautiful piano ballad where she reflects on the search for signs of spring while going through a tough season in life. After being diagnosed with Lyme disease, Samantha is still learning to navigate life with chronic pain, and songwriting has become her way of breaking free from the challenges of her condition. Flowers is a soulful, timely tune that speaks to the strength we can find in adversity, while also touching on the fragile hearts of Canadians today.
Let the music video revive your senses:
Reading the lyrics of a song can offer a deeper connection to its message, revealing the emotions and stories behind each line.
So I brought it up in a desperate prayer
Lord, why are you keeping me here?
Then He said to me, “Child, I’m planting seeds
I’m a good God and I have a good plan
So trust that I’m holding a watering can
And someday you’ll see that flowers grow in the valley”

Quinn Throness is a Christian singer/songwriter from Alberta, Canada. She warmly welcomes us into her life and states that “I write my songs for my Saviour, Jesus Christ, and I also live my life for Him. I hope my [music] can show you who I am and also - more importantly - who He is.”
Quinn grew up immersed in ministry and her parents still run the local youth group. Her song Heaven is Waiting is a joyful song that speaks to her upbringing. “My house was - and still is - always busy. There’s always someone over for something. Usually, that something is fun. My family showed me what it meant to live out your faith and do it joyfully. As I got older, I had to make this faith my own.”

Quinn’s commitment to creating “God-honouring music” that uplifts the soul and encourages an authentic connection with God makes her an essential figure in the Christian music scene, and a positive role model for young women in faith.

Hailing from Winnipeg, Canada Heather Rosen’s music is a story of transformation. She started her music career writing country music songs for top recording labels but was left feeling unfulfilled. Heather found faith after years of not knowing Him. While growing up in a family of faith, she says she “never had the revelation of Jesus on the cross and... never understood having a relationship with God.” Her journey to find God for herself took over 15 years of exploration that took her down some dark paths.
Heather was heartbroken in all aspects of her life. She eventually met her spiritual father and through his counsel she realized her transformational moment. “Wow, if Jesus is real, then I think I just met him in this man”.
Opening her heart as a Christian, she started attending church and instantly felt at home and allowed God to show her healing, restoration and redemption. Heather was immediately called into worship, and leading worship - unqualified.
Then, one day songs dropped into her heart and God invited her to “do it with him”.

Heather’s story is very relatable, and a powerful reminder that feeling disconnected from God is a common experience, but it’s also one that can be overcome. Many people go through seasons where they feel disconnected from God in their faith, and hearing a story of finding their way back is incredibly inspiring. Her journey of rediscovery and faith is an inspiring example for anyone going through a similar season, offering hope that reconnection is always possible.

Brooke Nicholls is another Canadian artist whose music speaks to the heart of believers everywhere. Based out of British Columbia, Canada, she is a worship leader, 10-time gospel music award winner and best selling author. Brooke’s music blends contemporary Christian sounds with worship, creating songs that praise and show her unwavering devotion to God. Her songs reflect her deep relationship with God, as well as her passion for seeing believers empowered in their faith.
Brooke tells her story:
Brooke’s song To Him Who is Able was born from Ephesians 3 , revealing God’s plan to unite all people into one body through Christ. “Now to him who is able to do it immeasurably more than we all ask or imagine, according to his power that is a at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever!”

Winnipeg, Canada born Jodi King, one-half of the Christian pop duo Love & The Outcome, is an example of how women in Christian music can balance the demands of ministry and life. As a mother, wife, and musician, Jodi’s life and music are a testament to God’s grace in the midst of everyday challenges.
Jodi’s music reflects the hardships that her family has faced in their lives. First, it was Covid that shut down the world and left her with no way of providing for her family. Then they lost their family home because of flooding in their hometown. She reminds us that “confidence isn’t having it all together, it’s letting God hold you together.” As Jodi shares how to stay in love, be a wife, have kids and a career, and let go of trying to be perfect amidst it all, you will be encouraged to do the same. The key? Going from ‘I got this’ to ‘God, I know that You got this ... Because I don’t!’
Her band’s music, infused with heartfelt lyrics and catchy melodies, reflects her faith, family, and passion for sharing the love of Jesus with others.
Her soulful song I Live For You is affirmation of her love for God.
Jodi’s music shows us the positive influence women can have in all aspects of their lives, including their art, relationships, and community. Her ministry through music is an inspiring model of faith in action as she serves others and Him through her music.

BLSNG is a fresh new voice in the music industry, and her debut single You’ve Got It came out as a way for her to share where she was with her faith at the time. Growing up in Toronto, Canada and now residing in Calgary, Alberta she explains that her musical journey has mostly been rooted in the church, where she grew up and really honed her talents. “I’ve always led worship since I was about twelve or thirteen,” she says.
Listen to Miracles
In a recent interview with Buzz Music, BLSNG opens up about the struggles of the comparison game we all play on social media. She talks about how easy it is to compare ourselves to others and feel like we’re not measuring up to the “perfect” lives we see online. She notes how, despite being more connected than ever, many of us still feel lonely:
“We live in this paradox where we’re so connected but also very lonely at the same time. We’re constantly seeing other people’s ‘highlight’ moments on social media and feeling like we’re falling behind. It leads to a lot of shame, anxiety, and comparison. I believe that sharing and vulnerability help break that cycle, because people realize they’re not alone in their struggles. I want people to know they don’t have to carry that weight by themselves. One of my favorite Bible passages says, ‘You can’t add an hour to your life by worrying,’ and I always paraphrase it like this: ‘Don’t let tomorrow worry about itself—give it to God.’ That’s what this song is all about.”
BLSNG’s music blends timeless messages of faith with contemporary sounds and relatable lyrics, offering a sense of spiritual comfort and hope in the hustle and bustle of today’s world.
As we celebrate Women’s History Month, let’s take a moment to appreciate the incredible women in Christian music. Their stories remind us that, no matter the obstacles we encounter, God can use us to make a difference in the world. As we recognize their powerful contributions to both the faith and music industry, let’s also be inspired to share our own gifts and talents with the world not just today but every day.
